After years of figurative work, at a certain moment I switched to abstract work. This way of working gives me a lot of freedom and satisfaction. I often work intuitively. After having applied the first random lines/areas, I continue by applying many layers. This gives the work depth. Coincidence is also an interesting factor. Shapes and structures arise as if by themselves. Fascinated by imperfect, lived-through and damaged surfaces, for me it is a search for form, structure, ambience, material and balance in my work. I work mainly with acrylic and mixed media techniques on paper and canvas.
